Banking & Progression
Troves aren't only meant to be spent. Some are worth keeping forever.
What is Trove Banking?
Banking permanently deposits a Trove into your collection. Once banked, a Trove can't be withdrawn or used in a recipe or quest again — it becomes a permanent part of your Upland history.
This is different from spending or exchanging a Trove, which uses it up and removes it from your account in the normal course of play. Banking is a deliberate choice to preserve rather than use.
The Trove Vault
The Vault is where your banked Troves live. Open it to see:
- Every Trove you've banked
- The banking level you've reached for each one
- What's needed to reach the next level
Banking Levels
Each Trove has its own progression through banking tiers:
- Bronze
- Silver
- Gold
- Platinum
- Diamond
- And beyond
The number of Troves needed to reach each tier varies by Trove — common Troves generally require more copies, while rarer ones require fewer. You don't have to climb the tiers in order: if you already have enough of a Trove to qualify for Diamond, you can bank straight to Diamond.
Strategy
- Specialize. Push a handful of Trove types to high banking tiers.
- Diversify. Build broad coverage across many Trove categories instead.
- Mix both. Most Architects will land somewhere in between — there's no single right way to bank.
The Upland Progression System
Think of Progression as your overall Upland level — a single number that reflects your activity, achievements, and advancement across the game.
Progression runs alongside your existing Upland status (Uplander, Pro, Executive, Director, and higher) rather than replacing it. Some Architects will focus mainly on status, others mainly on Progression, and many will pursue both together. Your progression level and shield appear on your profile beneath your status.
What drives Progression?
- Banking Troves
- Developing your property collections
- Completing progression objectives
- Increasing your Upland status
Rewards
Reaching a progression milestone can unlock:
- Map Assets
- UPX bonuses
- Collectibles
- Customization items
- Rewards tied to future Upland systems
Your profile shows your next milestone and what you'll earn when you reach it — a clear goal as you collect, bank, build, and grow.
How it all connects
Troves, Banking, Progression, Uppies, properties, and service structures work as one connected system. Collecting Troves feeds your Vault. Your Vault feeds your Progression. And Progression recognizes every way you choose to play — collector, builder, or Uppie enthusiast alike.
