Create Your Account & KYC

Sign up in three steps

  1. Install Upland on iOS or Android, or open Upland in your browser.
  2. Sign up with an email address. No crypto wallet required, even Upland runs on a blockchain.
  3. Verify your email, and you're in as a Visitor.

Secure your account

Account security matters because your assets have real value. Turn on Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) before you buy anything:

  • Go to Settings in the Quick Menu.
  • SMS Authentication sends a passcode to your phone whenever you make a transaction.
  • Google Authentication (recommended) provides a refresh code in an authenticator app.

To enable 2FA:

  1. Got to Settings in the Quick Menu.
  2. Click "Authentication."
  3. There are two types of authentication: SMS (secure), and Google Authentication (very secure)
  4. SMS Authentication enables a security setting in which a passcode is sent to your mobile phone whenever you transact in Upland.
  5. Google Authentication secures your account by listing a refreshing code needed whenever you want to make a transaction.
  6. Scan the given QR code to add Upland as an account on Google Authenticator.
  7. Enter the Upland code to verify your account.

‍Enabling 2FA protects your account from dictionary attacks, where your information on other websites may be exposed. It's highly recommended to secure your account with the best tools available to ensure the safety of your Upland assets.

KYC Identity Verification

KYC (know your customer) promotes fair play by requiring players to prove their identity. KYC is needed for various activities, including:

  • Competitive Treasure Hunts (Exclusive+ Tier)
  • Competitive Sparklet Treasures
  • Sparklet login bonus
  • Sparklet rewards
  • Extracting USD to your PayPal account

KYC checks reduce the amount of Sparklet or UPX rewards doled out to bad actors. This helps level the playing field and strengthens the economy through a healthier distribution of UPX and Sparklet. ‍

Fortunately, completing a KYC check is straightforward and can be initiated in the Upland app. All players need to do is:

  1. Go to the Quick Menu in the app.
  2. Open the Settings menu.
  3. Click on Verify Your Identity and follow the steps.

Note: KYC can take a few days to complete with our partner, Thunes. You will be asked to share personal information in order to verify your identity.
