Selling for USD

Selling for USD

Eligible digital assets — including properties and certain NFTs — can be listed for sale in US dollars on the Upland marketplace. Sale proceeds will be withdrawn to PayPal. Live since 2020. Regulated. KYC required.

How it works

  1. List an eligible asset for USD on the marketplace, see also the previous section.
  2. A USD account is created in the background through Thunes, Upland's regulated payment partner (Thunes acquired the Tilia payments platform from Linden Lab).
  3. Complete identity verification (KYC) once. Buyers only need to accept terms — no KYC required to purchase.
  4. When the asset is sold, the USD proceeds are credited to your USD account.
  5. Withdraw to PayPal at any time, subject to a 5% withdrawal fee.

What you need to know

  • Holding periods apply before a property can be listed for USD. Periods vary by Upland Status.
  • Availability, fees, and tax obligations vary by region. Some countries are excluded from PayPal withdrawals.
  • USD listings require Uplander status or above.
  • Upland may change transaction fees for USD-based trades at its discretion, which may differ from those for UPX trades.

Important: Upland is a game first. UPX, SPARKLET, and STEM are utility tokens that exist to make the game work. The USD marketplace is an option for those who choose to use it. Nothing here is financial advice; outcomes depend on your activity, the market, and your decisions.
