Developer Network & Dev Shops
Upland opens its ecosystem to third-party developers through a public API. Developers build games, tools, and experiences that plug directly into the Upland economy and community. Players access them through Dev Shops on the map (marked with purple pips).
What developers can build
- Layer-2 games and mini-experiences.
- Analytics tools, portfolio trackers, market scanners.
- Trading tools and asset management apps.
- Visualization tools (neighborhood planners, build simulators).
Getting started as a Layer 2 developer
- Read the Upland Developers documentation →.
- Apply for API access.
- Build a prototype.
- Launch through a Dev Shop or as a standalone web app.
Developers can ask players to spend or stake SPARKLET inside their offerings. This is what makes the third-party economy sustainable.
The Upland Appchain
Upland runs on its own dedicated blockchain — the Upland Appchain. Every property, structure, Uppie, and key transaction is recorded on-chain. The public block explorer at ledger.upland.me lets anyone independently view and verify activity. Players don't need to think about it. Developers can build on it.
