Structures

There a differen kind of structures, players can add to their properties.

Residential structures

Residential structures are where Uppies live. The more Living Units you place, the more residents your neighborhood can support.

Blueprints

Standard residential units are purchased as permanent blueprints from the Upland Store. Buy a blueprint once, build as many of that structure as you want on properties that meet the requirements.

  • Standard Blueprints — always available in the store for UPX or USD.
  • Limited Blueprints — visually unique designs, available for a limited window or through events.

Cost

Building consumes Staked SPARKLET (returns to your wallet when construction completes). See the SPARKLET page in the Trade & Earn space for how staking works.

Service structures

Service Structures are what make a neighborhood livable. Hospitals, schools, supermarkets, fire stations, cafés, bakeries, courthouses — each meets a specific need that draws Uppies in.

Categories with examples

  • Essential. Supermarkets, pharmacies, banks.
  • Public Service. Schools, fire stations, courthouses, post offices, clinics, hospitals..
  • Entertainment. Cafés, arcades, bowling alleys, restaurants.

Why they matter

Each service structure produces specific Troves. Those Troves combine through Recipes into the goods Uppies request or unlock other rewards such as STEM, SPARKELT, UPX, yield, and more. A neighborhood with broad service coverage attracts more residents, raises its Resident Score, and unlocks more gameplay. (Troves, Recipes, and Resident Score are covered in the Residents & Life section.)

Note: Service Structures are released in limited-time sales. Buying a structure gives you the permanent right to build that model on any compatible property. Track the events page for upcoming drops.

Office structures

Office Structures are the commercial backbone and can create bonds between Architects. Each structure can generate Office Units, which contribute to a neighborhood's Commerce Score and attract Uppies seeking employment.

How bonds work

A bond is created when two Architects establish reciprocal commercial presence. Player A lives in Neighborhood X and builds an office in Neighborhood Y. Player B lives in Neighborhood Y and builds an office in Neighborhood X. A bond forms between the two neighborhoods.

Why bonds matter

  • Stronger Commerce Scores attract more Uppies seeking employment opportunities.
  • Bonds prepare your neighborhoods for Trade Routes, where cargo and Troves move between connected neighborhoods.
  • Placing offices in your own neighborhood does not create bonds. The cross-neighborhood reciprocal placement is what counts.

Commerce Score and Trade Routes are covered in the Residents & Life and Race, Explore & Move section.
