What is Totem?
Totems are a captivating collection of map assets, embodied by unique life forms. As players, you'll embark on a journey to nurture and maintain your totems' health, requiring Protem spending. Skillful nurturing will yield additional Protem as rewarding outcomes.
What are Stem and Protem?
In the expansive Upland metaverse, Stem will hold the vital
role of sustaining all living things, such as trees, animals,
and plants. Life's design will closely mirror the real
world, where living assets will require nourishment in the
form of Stem.
To facilitate the transition, Protem,
a substitute currency, will be utilized until the full release
of Stem and Life. Protem will be redeemable 1:1 with Stem upon
its eventual launch. All totem holders will receive an initial
supply of Protem, and when totems are activated, players will
receive a fixed amount of Protem for each totem they hold.
What is a Totem Cycle?
A totem cycle in Totem spans a 30-day period, during which
totems come to life. Throughout the cycle, players can spend
Protem to keep their totems "alive" and, in turn,
collect Protem yield rewards. The amount of Protem a totem
yields during the cycle depends on players' behaviors,
including spend frequency, spend amount, and collection
frequency. Achieving the best Protem yield performance
involves testing and exploring optimal spending strategies, as
each totem is truly one-of-a-kind!
After the cycle
concludes, totems hibernate, and players can no longer spend
Protem for yield rewards until the next cycle begins. The
frequency of totem cycles will be determined based on early
cycle results. Embrace the enchanting journey, nurture your
unique totems, and unlock the art of strategic spending to
maximize Protem rewards!
What are Totem Traits?
Totem traits are the heart and soul of these captivating creatures. Each totem possesses 5 visual traits, and each trait represents an attribute that determines the nature of the Totem. These traits — Life Form, Style, Color, Scale, and Totem Base - influence your Totem's appearance, behavior, Protem rewards, and more. These visual traits represent five specific attributes of your totem – Output, Input, Frequency, Capacity, and Stamina.
What is a Life Form?
Totem's Life Form presents an enchanting array of animal and plant types, comprising 11 captivating variations. Each Life Form is intricately connected to a distinct "Output" curve, showcasing the totem's yielding pattern and overall yield returns.
How do I get Totem?
Players can access different rarities of Totems based on the Pass that they purchase in the Upland Store during specific sale periods.
What can I do with it?
Nurture your Totem to power its lifecycle! Spend Protem to nurture your Totem and keep it "alive" during the 30-day cycle. As you nurture your totem, it generates Protem rewards. Collect them periodically to grow your resources and further nurture your totem's potential. The right spending strategy is essential – too much or too little can affect your rewards. Remember, spending frequency and amount matter.
