Uppy Evolution: Level Up Your Uppies

We’re thrilled to unveil thenext chapter in the world of Upland’s charming digital residents, Uppies! These aren’t just collectibles; they’re residents who live on your properties and in your neighborhoods, bringing culture, personality, and lore to your corner of Upland.

When we first introduced the upcoming Uppies Discovery mini-game, you got a taste of the adventure ahead: exploring Upland, uncovering quirky companions, and adding them to your growing collection. With the launch of Rome, we also revealed that each city will feature its own unique Uppies, giving every location in Upland a distinct cultural flavor.

Now, it’s time to go beyond discovery. In the future, you’ll be able to upgrade and evolve your Uppies with an exciting new feature: The Uppy Evolution!

The Three Classes of Uppies

Every Uppy belongs to one of three classes:

• Normal Uppies — Found anywhere in Upland.
• Special Edition Uppies — Location-specific and more difficult to find, tied to the identity of a particular city.
• Iconic Parody Uppies (IPUs) — Rare, standout personalities that represent the pinnacle of Uppy collecting.

Each Uppy has unique traits, and the more traits it has, the higher its level. Levels range from 1 to 10, with Iconic Uppies reaching a Special Star Level surpassing even the top tier. These levels aren’t just about rarity; they also represent depth of lore, personality, and the creative story behind your Uppy.

How Uppy Evolution Works

Uppy Evolution allows you to combine two Uppies of the same level to create a brand-new, higher-level resident. The more you evolve, the closer you get to unlocking the rarest and most unique Uppies in Upland.

Seasonal Burn Events will be key moments for evolution, special windows that bring added excitement and unique possibilities, but evolution may also happen outside of these events, giving you the flexibility to grow your collection whenever the opportunity arises.

When you evolve your Uppies, the original ones will be permanently burned. They’re gone forever, replaced by the new evolved Uppy. That means every evolution is a big decision: do you part with your favorites for a chance at something more rare and unique, or keep them in your collection?

Merging also follows a same-level rule:

• Two Level 1 Uppies evolve into a Level 2.
• Two Level 3 Uppies evolve into a Level 4.
• This pattern continues up the chain, all the way to Level 10.
• To reach the special Level i Iconic Uppy, you’ll need to combine two Level 10s.

This system means you’ll need to plan carefully, sometimes it’s better to hold onto a Uppy for trading rather than burn it, and other times it’s the key step toward unlocking the next tier in your collection.

And because Uppies can be traded on the secondary market, the path to the rarest and most unique characters will be entirely in your hands.

Want to chase a Star Level Iconic Uppy? That will take strategy, patience, and possibly merging two Level 10 Uppies to reach the top tier. But remember: those two Level 10s will be gone for good once you evolve, so make sure you’re ready before pulling the trigger.

These burn events not only add excitement, but they also keep the Uppy ecosystem fresh, encouraging players to work together, trade, and build truly unique collections that are culturally and personally meaningful in Upland.
