Hey Uplanders, as you know, we are constantly working on improvements to Upland’s technical infrastructure to create the best possible experience for our players. However, it can be difficult to measure the success of these changes under everyday Upland conditions. In order to test these ongoing fixes, we will be conducting a “Fire Drill” on Wednesday, March 30th at 8:45 AM PT to stress test our system, evaluate the changes, and plan for additional updates.

Players who participate in the Upland Fire Drill will be eligible for multiple drawings with top prizes of 1 Spark and 50k UPX!

The Upland Fire Drill

‍

The Upland Fire Drill consists of two parts: a Minting challenge and a Treasure collection challenge. Both challenges will be limited to the following neighborhoods:

• Los Angeles - Woodland Hills
• Nashville - East Nashville
• Kansas City - Raytown
• Detroit - Warrendale

‍

Each neighborhood was selected due to their available inventory of unminted properties as well as their current secondary market value. Once the “Fire Drill” begins, players will have 45 minutes to complete each activity and earn as many entries as possible.

Stress Test Schedule

‍

Starting at 8:45 AM PT, a large number of sends will be dropped in each city. Players can travel to these cities to pick up sends and prepare for the Minting and Treasure collection challenges. 

‍

At 9:00 AM PT, the Minting challenge will begin and we encourage players to mint properties in the aforementioned neighborhoods.

‍

Lastly, starting at 9:05 AM PT, the Treasures will begin to appear on minted properties throughout each of the neighborhoods, with 50 Treasures dropping every 5 minutes. The last Treasure drop will occur at 9:30 AM PT. While most Treasures will grant enough UPX rewards to cover send fees, each Treasure has a small chance to contain 10k UPX!

Earning Giveaway Entries

Participating in the Upland Fire Drill will earn you the chance to win up to 1 Spark in the Minting Giveaway and 50k UPX in the Treasure Giveaway! The number of entries and possible prizes are listed below.

Minting Giveaway:

How to Enter:

• Each property minted in the selected neighborhood earns 5 entries into the giveaway, up to a maximum of 15 entries (3 mints).
• Each send to a property within the selected neighborhood earns 1 entry into the giveaway, up to a maximum of 5 entries.
• Qualifying Mints and Sends must occur between 9:00 AM PT and 9:45 AM PT.

• Grand Prize: 1.0 Spark
• 2nd: 0.8 Spark
• 3rd: 0.6 Spark
• 4th: 0.4 Spark
• 5th: 0.2 Spark

Treasure Giveaway:

• Each Treasure claimed the selected neighborhood earns 5 entries into the giveaway, up to a maximum of 15 entries (3 Treasures).
• Each sent to a property within the selected neighborhood earns 1 entry into the giveaway, up to a maximum of 5 entries.
• Qualifying Treasure claims and Sends must occur between 9:00 AM PT and 9:45 AM PT.

• Grand Prize: 50k UPX
• 2nd: 40k UPX
• 3rd: 30k UPX
• 4th: 20k UPX
• 5th: 10k UPX

Note: Qualifying sends will earn entries into both Giveaways, up to the stated maximum.
