Upcoming Community Vote: The Future of SPARKLET

We’re preparing to hold an upcoming community vote regarding SPARKLET in the next few weeks, and your input will help shape what comes next.

During the first quarter of 2026, approximately 1.9 million SPARKLET has been spent on seed generation and Uppie merges. This is a significant milestone and a strong indicator of the growing utility of SPARKLET within Upland’s ecosystem.

As per the white paper, it’s time to determine, together as a community, what should happen with this spent SPARKLET.

We Want to Hear From You

The upcoming vote will present a proposal to the Upland community outlining a potential path forward for the spent SPARKLET. There are several possible approaches, including but not limited to:

  • Burning the SPARKLET supply
  • Allocating it to incentives and rewards pools for future redistribution
  • Other mechanisms that support long-term ecosystem growth

We will put forward a proposal based on what we believe is the most beneficial path. The community will then have the opportunity to vote yes or no.

If the proposal is approved, it will move forward. If not, we’ll return to the drawing board, refine the approach, and bring a new proposal back for consideration.
