We’re thrilled to announce that Resident Scores are officially live in Upland! This is a landmark moment for our community, marking the beginning of a new era centered around what has always been at the heart of Upland: property trading and development.

Resident and Influence Scores update every 24 hours, so the actions you take today could shape your standing tomorrow. This launch isn’t just a new feature, it’s the foundation for an evolving gameplay experience that will unlock fresh mechanics and opportunities in the future.

In the coming weeks, we’ll be sharing more details about what’s ahead, including how these new systems will connect to future features and rewards. Stay tuned, this is just the beginning.

What Are Residents?

In Upland, residents represent the Uppies, the digital citizens, who’ve chosen to live on your properties, in your neighborhoods, and throughout your cities. Your Resident Score is a direct reflection of how many Uppies are calling your properties home.

While players can’t collect Uppies just yet, your mission right now is simple: attract as many as possible to your properties and neighborhoods. The more you attract, the higher your Resident Score.

Introducing the Influence Score

The Influence Score reflects how much you contribute to making your neighborhood a place Uppies want to live, not just for your own benefit, but for the good of the community.

The main way to increase it is by building service structures, though any action that attracts residents without direct personal gain can help.

This score will evolve over time, with more factors added as the system grows.

In the future, your Influence Score will contribute to in-game rewards, including recognition and earnings-related benefits.

Player Profiles Get an Upgrade

With this update, your profile now highlights two powerful new stats:

• Total Uppies: The number of Uppies living on your properties
• Influence Score: Your effectiveness in attracting and supporting residents

You’ll also get a full breakdown of where your Uppies live, sorted by city and neighborhood. Whether you’re dominating a district or building emerging cultural hubs, you’ll now have the tools to track, measure, and set goals like never before.

Welcome to the Upland Census

We’re also launching the Upland Census, a brand-new website dedicated to all things residents.

The Census is LIVE NOW and can be accessed here.

Here you’ll be able to:

• Track how your neighborhoods rank
• Monitor trends in resident activity
• View daily updates on Resident scores

This is just the beginning and the first iteration of this site. The Census will continue to evolve with more data, deeper insights, and even in-game integrations over time.

Saying Goodbye to the Old, Welcoming the New

As we introduce this new system, we’re also officially retiring the old Neighborhood Scores and leaderboards. While players will still be able to level up neighborhoods and add collections in the future, these systems will now be directly tied to the new resident scores.

This transition is ongoing, we’re monitoring the new Resident algorithm closely and will continue adjusting and improving it as more data comes in.

Resident Scores are more than just a number, they’re a new foundation for how growth, community, and success are measured in Upland.
