Our Dearest Uplanders, 

‍

From the early days of only a few cities to the upcoming release of cars, Upland has become a formidable force in the web3 ecosystem. Through it all, our loyal mascot, Miles, has stood by our side. However, there comes an unfortunate time when it is best for both parties to move on, separately.

‍

After intense internal discussion, the Upland team has decided that parting ways with Miles is in the best interest of both the team and our faithful Upland community. As a result, Upland will slowly begin to remove Miles from all Upland media over the next few days. We wish Miles the best of luck in all future endeavors and are certain that the loving llama will find future success elsewhere.

We have already begun our search for a new mascot, and have narrowed down the selections to four fantastic candidates. In typical Upland fashion, we would like the community to vote on who should be the new face of Upland as we look toward the future.

Meet the Candidates

Bob is a palpable panda that is looking to bring his Asian influences to Upland. A lover of bamboo and animals, Bob believes that Upland should grow sustainably. Bob understands that not all issues are black and white and seeks to find the solutions that are best for all. Bob cannot wait to represent Upland and brings a personality that represents balance and patience.

A self-proclaimed nomad who can be found anywhere in the world, Snowdrop is ready to bring some wily strategies to Upland. Aggressive yet social, Snowdrop will not back down and brings a new level of social opportunities to the metaverse. Bringing Snowdrop as a mascot would be a symbol that resonates with creating a high-energy environment with an athletic lifestyle.

Don’t be fooled by Tokyo’s cool demeanor, this sea otter likes to party! Highly intelligent, yet playful Tokyo loves talking to others and being part of the scene. Tokyo is a creative problem-solver who is determined to tackle the toughest challenges. Having Tokyo as a mascot would represent a metaverse that is all business up front, but a party in the back!

Alora is a cool cat who brings sunlight and warmth to the coldest and darkest places. Known to be fast-acting, quick-footed, and relentless, Alora chases down any opportunity and makes the most of them. While often in a pack, Alora also enjoys being alone to focus on personal needs and achievements. Alora represents the pursuit of greatness and one’s own growth for the betterment of a community, aspects that would be representative of Upland.

Closing Thoughts

This is not a decision we take lightly, however, our founders recently had the misfortune of being spat on by a llama during a team outing at the zoo, which was the impetus for this change. We know this may come as a shock to many of our community members, however, we believe this is the best decision for our brand, community, and partners moving forward. Once again, thank you all for your support, we look forward to rebuilding the world alongside whoever our new mascot may be...
