We've listened to the voices of all you Uplanders, and we're thrilled to announce that the Master Builders Contest is making a comeback! This means that a few talented players will have the chance to see their architectural creations become a permanent part of Upland's iconic skyline.

In this edition of the Master Builders Contest, we’ll add new player-designed Structure models to three prominent Upland cities: Berlin, London, and Tokyo. On top of that, the winners of this contest will be rewarded with the prestigious "Master Builder" badge and a Property with their winning Structure built on it!

Keep reading for all the contest details, and join us in celebrating the incredible designers who are putting their skills to the test in the Master Builders Contest. We also encourage players to collaborate and share their designs with each other in the #upland-ugc channel on Discord!

Let's build something amazing together!

Master Builders Contest Details

In this Master Builders Contest, we’re seeking only two specific Structure Models for each city. This means there will be two winners for each city

Here are the two specific Structure models each city will have a winner for:

  1. One Winner of a One-Story Building
  2. One Winner of a Two+ Story Building (this building must not exceed eight stories and respect the max height guideline)

To participate in the contest, players must submit a refined 3D model for any of the three cities. Contestants are welcome to submit models for both of the specific Structure models in each city. These models should incorporate elements inspired by the cities' distinct features. Contestants cannot recreate landmarks or famous buildings for this contest. Instead, we encourage participants to let their creativity shine and strive to capture the essence and unique spirit of each city.

After the Upland team reviews and accepts submissions, the community will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite models for each city. Whichever one-story and two+ story models get the most votes for each city wins!

After winners have been announced, if we discover any additional issues with the winning model designs that were overlooked during the submission process, the Upland Team will promptly inform the winners via email. In the email, they will receive specific details regarding the necessary fixes, and it will be the responsibility of the winners to address these issues in their designs.

Note: Please be aware that certain models may not qualify for community voting due to submission issues and disqualifications. Designers are given one chance to re-submit a design before facing disqualification.

Master Builder Contest Rewards

Achieving the distinction of having your own Structure in Upland is a significant accomplishment, and we want to acknowledge and reward each contest winner for their dedication and creativity. Each of the six winners will receive the following:

  • Naming Rights: You will have the privilege of naming your model, and this name will be featured in the model's description.
  • Master Builder Badge: You will be awarded the exclusive "Master Builder" badge, recognizing your exceptional skills and contribution to Upland.
  • A Property in the City of the Model Design: You will receive a property within the city corresponding to your winning model design. This property will be chosen by the Upland Team and will include a fully constructed Structure of their model design.

Important Note: Distribution of the property reward will not be immediate, as it will take some time to complete the construction of the Structure on the property.
