Frost Ornament Challenge: Decorate Smart, Win Big

The Frost Ornament Challenge is here, and this season brings a game-changing twist. Placement strategy just got a whole lot deeper.

From Wednesday, March 4th to Wednesday, March 11th, transform your structures into frosted masterpieces by placing Frost Season Ornaments across your properties. Every ornament counts toward your score, but this season, how you spread them matters more than ever.

How It Works

Ornament placement begins at 9 AM PT onWednesday, March 4th. The leaderboard closes at 9 AM PT on Wednesday, March 11th, when the final snapshot will be taken. We recommend leaving all ornaments in place for at least 24 hours after the snapshot to ensure they are fully captured.

Your goal: Place Frost Season Ornaments (Upland or player-created) on your structures across Upland. Every ornament counts toward your score, but this time, stacking all your ornaments on one property won’t cut it.

NEW: Spread to Score

This season changes how you place ornaments.

Putting multiple Frost Season Ornaments on the same property now triggers diminishing returns. Loading up one property is no longer the best play. Smart spreading wins.

On each property, ornaments are scored as follows:

1st Ornament: 100% of points
2nd Ornament: 50% of points
3rd Ornament: 25% of points
4th Ornament and beyond: 0 points

Important: What Counts as “1st” Ornament?

For scoring purposes, the LAST ornament you apply to a property is treated as the “1st Ornament.

That means you can control which ornament gets full value. Want your best ornament to score at 100%? Place it last on that property. Anything placed before it will be treated as the 2nd and 3rd ornaments and receive reduced value.

A 4th+ ornament on the same property won’t score at all. In short: If you’re stacking ornaments on a property, make sure the ornament you most want to count is the one you place last.

This system rewards decorators who spread ornaments across multiple properties and use placement order strategically.

Supply Based Scoring

The rarer the ornament, the more it’s worth. This season introduces a tiered scoring model based on mint count, adding another layer of strategy for decorators:

  • 20 or fewer mints: 5 points
  • 21–100: 4 points
  • 101–500: 3 points
  • 501–2,000: 2 points
  • 2,001 or more: 1 point

Creator Collaboration Bonus

Encouraging variety and celebrating the broader ornament community. To promote diverse design use, players who place ornaments created by others will earn the full score value. However, if you place ornaments that you created yourself, your score will be reduced to 10% of the total possible points for that placement.

The reduction is applied after summing all other points, including collection bonus, structure size, and mint supply scoring.

For example, if a creator places their own ornament on an Ultra Rare Collection property with a Luxury Ranch and a mint count of 50:

  • Collection Points: 5
  • Structure Points: 4
  • Supply Points: 4
  • Subtotal: 13
  • With Creator Penalty: 1.3 Total Points

This system encourages creators to explore and showcase the work of others, highlighting the depth of Upland’s ornament economy.

Collection Scoring

This season, collection quality matters more than ever. Ornaments placed on properties that are part of higher-tier collections will earn bonus points based on collection status:

  • Standard: 1 point
  • Limited: 2 points
  • Exclusive: 3 points
  • Rare: 4 points
  • Ultra Rare: 5 points

Structure Scoring

Not all structures are built equally. Now, the scoring reflects that. To better represent Sparklet investment and encourage a range of builds, structures earn points based on size:

  • Micro House: 1 point
  • Small Town House / Ranch: 2 points
  • Townhouse: 2 points
  • Large Town House: 3 points
  • Tokyo Structure: 3 points
  • Cosy Cabin: 3 points
  • Two Story Loft: 3 points
  • Family Home: 3 points
  • Luxury Modern/Ranch: 4 points
  • Apartment Building: 5 points
  • Service Structures: 5 points

Upland Official Ornament Bonus

Collectors of official Upland ornaments now have a reason to celebrate. Ornaments designed by Upland earn a 2x multiplier, adding both utility and prestige to these limited-edition items.

The multiplier is applied after all other points have been calculated, this includes collection points, structure size points, and mint based rarity points.

For example, if a Upland Official Ornament is placed on a Rare Collection property with a Large Townhouse and has a mint supply in the 101–500 range:

  • Collection Points: 4
  • Structure Points: 3
  • Supply Points: 3
  • Subtotal: 10
  • With 2x Bonus: 20 Total Points

Only ornaments officially released by Upland are eligible for this multiplier.

Leaderboards

As always, players will be matched up against others in their own status tiers. Track your progress and see how you stack up against fellow decorators throughout the challenge.

  • Uplander & Pro
  • Director
  • Executive & Above

Leaderboards update every 12 hours. In the event of a tie, a random draw will decide the winner, so every ornament matters.

The Leaderboard will be live HERE shortly after the contest begins.

Prizes

This season’s rewards are both valuable and exclusive, with prizes awarded on each leaderboard tier (Uplander and Pro, Director, and Executive and Above) for a total of 75 winners:
