The Fireworks Festival Challenge

In celebration of Independence Day this Sunday, July 4th, at 8:00 AM PT, we will be launching the Fireworks Festival Challenge! Players will compete to collect firework pinatas during waves of pinatas that will spawn between 8:00 AM PT and 8:00 PM PT. These pinatas will carry both UPX and Spark rewards, and players who place in the top 10 pinata collectors win even greater bonus rewards!

In addition to pinata drops, the “Independence” treasure hunt tier will be also enabled with boosted Spark and UPX rewards. More details below.

Firework Drops

Firework pinata drops will be spawned on random properties throughout Upland. Players will need to locate the area where pinatas will spawn by solving clues provided in the Upland Discord server; clues will be shared at the time of each pinata wave in the #live-events channel.

Once a player discovers the location of the drops, they’ll need to rush over and start collecting pinatas! Players who find the Blue Firework will win UPX while players who find the Blue Spark Chest will win Spark; both will count towards the pinata collection leaderboard.

Wave 2: Chicago, 12:00 PM PT
Wave 3: Fresno, 3:00 PM PT
Wave 4: Oakland, 5:00 PM PT
Wave 5: San Francisco, 7:00 PM PT

Flyover Drops

Our Upland pilots are performing flyovers across cities in Upland! As they dash across the skies, players will compete to gather pinatas that mimic their flight formations. Players will be provided with the neighborhood where the pinatas are located in Discord.

We encourage players to collaborate with the community in the #fireworks-fest channel to pinpoint the location of other pinatas in the formation. Each respective flyover formation will also include a special Fireworks Bundle pinata which will contain huge UPX rewards!

The Independence Tier Treasure Hunt

Last but not least, “Independence Tier” Treasure Hunts will be live at 8:00 AM PT this Sunday and will close at 12:00 AM PT on Monday. These treasures contain boosted UPX rewards in addition to some rare treasures that contain Spark! This tier will be enabled in all cities (excluding Chicago & Cleveland) and can be accessed via the “treasures” tab in the Upland app.
