Construction Crews Are Live: Power Up Your Builds Like Never Before

Construction Boost has already been helping players speed up their builds with eligible construction vehicles. Now, we’re taking that system one step further with the launch of Construction Crew Bonuses, a powerful new advantage for players who organize their vehicles into completed crews.

This is a big moment for builders across Upland. Construction vehicles already play an important role in reducing build times, and now completed Crews add an additional bonus layer that rewardssmart deployment, stronger planning, and players who are ready to put their fleets to work.

What Are Construction Crews?

A Construction Crew is created when a player places three unique eligible construction vehicles on a property under construction.

Each completed Crew provides an additional bonus to the total amount of Sparklet staked into a structure. This means players who form full Crews can push their construction progress even further beyond the boost provided by individual vehicles.

Construction vehicles help speed up your build, and completed crews now make that setup even stronger.

How the Crew Bonus Works

Each completed Crew provides a percentage bonus based on the total amount of Sparklet staked into construction before vehicle boosts are applied. This takes into account both your own staked sparklet as well as any sparklet staked by others on your build.

At launch, each completed Crew provides a +5% bonus to the Sparklet staked into that construction project before vehicle boosts are applied.

That bonus is calculated first. After the Crew Bonus is applied, the Sparklet value from each eligible construction vehicle is then added on top.

The order works like this:

  1. A player stakes Sparklet into construction.
  2. Completed Crews add their percentage bonus to that staked Sparklet.
  3. Construction vehicle boosts are added after the Crew Bonus.
  4. The final effective Sparklet amount helps reduce the total construction time.

This makes completed Crews a major advantage for players who are actively using construction vehicles to speed up their builds.

Important Activation Note: To activate Crew Bonuses on an active build, players will need to trigger a recalculation. You can do this by moving at least one construction vehicle off the property and back on, or by unstaking and restaking Sparklet on the build.

Basic Example: One Crew

Let’s say a player has:

  • 100 Sparklet staked into construction
  • 1 completed Crew
  • Each Crew provides a +5% bonus

The Crew Bonusadds 5 effective Sparklet. That means the player’s staked Sparklet contribution becomes:

  • 100 staked Sparklet + 5 Crew Bonus = 105 effective Sparklet

After that, any eligible construction vehicle boosts are added on top.

This is the most important thing to understand: Crew Bonuses increase the player’s staked Sparklet first, then vehicle boosts are added afterward.

Multiple Crews Stack

Players are not limited to a single Crew Bonus. Each completed Crew contributes its own fixed percentage bonus, and multiple Crew Bonuses stack additively.

That means if one completed Crew gives a +5% bonus, then two completed Crews provide a combined +10% bonus to the player’s staked Sparklet. Three completed Crews would provide +15%, and so on.

The more completed Crews you deploy, the stronger your Crew Bonus becomes.

Detailed Example: Two Crews and an Extra Vehicle

Now let’s look at a more complete example.

A player has 100 Sparklet staked into construction and deploys two completed Crews, plus one additional eligible construction vehicle.

Crew 1 includes:

  • Mobile Crane: 3,000 Sparklet
  • Excavator: 2,250 Sparklet
  • Mini Front Loader: 1,500 Sparklet

Crew 2 includes:

  • Mobile Crane: 3,000 Sparklet
  • Excavator: 2,250 Sparklet
  • Mini Front Loader: 1,500 Sparklet

The player also deploys one additional vehicle:

  • Mobile Crane: 3,000 Sparklet

Since the player has two completed Crews, the Crew Bonus is:

  • +5% from Crew 1 + +5% from Crew 2 = +10% total Crew Bonus

That +10% bonus applies to the player’s staked Sparklet before vehicle boosts are added.

So the staked Sparklet calculation is:

  • 100 staked Sparklet + 10 Crew Bonus = 110 effective Sparklet before vehicle boosts

Then the construction vehicle boosts are added:

  • 110 + 3,000 + 2,250 + 1,500 + 3,000 + 2,250 + 1,500 + 3,000 = 16,610 total effective Sparklet

This example shows how completed Crews add an extra bonus layer while construction vehicles still contribute their own powerful Sparklet values.

The Crew Bonus does not multiply the vehicle values. Instead, it boosts the Sparklet staked by the player, then the construction vehicle values are added on top.

Crew Bonuses Recalculate Automatically

Crew Bonuses are based on two things:

  • The amount of Sparklet currently staked into construction
  • The number of completed Crews currently active

If the amount of Sparklet staked changes, the Crew Bonus will recalculate. If the number of completed Crews changes, the Crew Bonus will also recalculate.

This keeps the system dynamic and ensures that your active construction setup reflects your current staked Sparklet, vehicles, and completed Crews.
