The fuse is lit and we’re getting ready to release Dynamic Competitive Treasures. These soon-to-be-released changes to competitive treasures will balance rewards given to players participating in these events and make them more exciting for more players!
And if that doesn’t knock your socks off, we’re also bringing back Treasure Rushes with a few balance updates that could lead to big bonuses for players.
Dynamic Competitive Treasure Hunt Details
We’ve noticed that the existing competitive treasure hunts don’t always give enough people the rush they deserve. These realizations were initially mentioned back in September, and we’re just about ready to roll out updates. With Dynamic Competitive Treasure Hunts, treasure spawns have been significantly increased, so more people have a chance to win!
Rewards for these treasures have also been rebalanced in light of these changes. So while there won’t be the same huge rewards, players should see a smoother distribution of rewards during Competitive Treasure Hunts.
More treasure, more fun!
Updates to City Treasure Tiers & Riot Mode Thresholds
Alongside this update, we recognized the need to re-shuffle treasure hunting tiers a bit. As we’ve released new cities, we’ve consistently been avoiding the Tier 3 middle ground for treasures. This means that there is a pretty big gap between Tier 2 and Tier 4 treasure hunting cities. As a result, we will bump up four cities to Tier 3 and adjust their send fees accordingly. The following cities will now be classified as Tier 3 Treasure Hunting Cities:
- Rio
- Porto
- Las Vegas
- Brooklyn
Additionally, since this is a significant change to the overall structure of Competitive Treasures, we will need to revisit Riot Mode Thresholds in all cities. As a result, we have made some blanket changes to Riot Mode Thresholds, with the assumption that most cities will probably be in Riot Mode at the beginning.
Thresholds will probably be adjusted as we have opportunities to gather data and make adjustments. But we’ll let you guys enjoy the Riot for now! Check out the chart below for an updated chart of City Treasure Hunting Tiers and Riot Mode Thresholds.
New Competitive Treasure Hunt Schedule
With the new Dynamic Competitive Treasure Hunt reward system, we’ve changed when and where these hunts occur. Starting October 11, Competitive Treasure Hunts will spawn in seven cities across Upland. These treasure hunts will last seven days before cities rotate. Each week, seven new cities will host Competitive Treasure Hunts, but this may change in the future as this program develops.
To give you a feel for the schedule, you can expect Competitive Treasure Hunts to switch cities on October 11, October 18, and October 25.
Treasure Rush
Treasure Rush is back with some balances to rewards. In short, there’s a slightly increased chance to win the bigger “bonus” treasures in cities with treasure hunt tier 2, 3, 4, and 5. Refer to the chart above and check out the “TH Tier” column to see which cities get this bump!
The Treasure Rush schedule aims to launch a new Treasure Rush every three days. This starts today, October 7! So jump in and rush to play!
Here’s the schedule for Treasure Rushes in October to help you plan your mad dashes:
- Friday, October 7 | Nashville
