Collection Rework: Part 1

Your Block Explorers are hidden no more! This morning, we released an update that overhauls the visual representation of collections chips on Block Explorers, meaning collection chips will no longer stack high enough to hide parts of your BE. Collection chips will now distinguish between active and inactive collections, only displaying chips for completed collections that the player is currently holding properties in. Additionally, they will each have shapes depending on the number of collections that the player is currently holding. Log in now to check out the visual collection rework for yourself!

Note: Players will need to update to the latest version of the Upland app to see the changes.

Active vs. Inactive Collections

Alongside this update is an important distinction between active and inactive collections. Completed collections that are currently being used to boost property yields are considered “active,” while collections that have been completed but are not in use will be considered “inactive.” Going forward, only active collections will be displayed on top of each player’s Block Explorer. Inactive collections that have been completed will still be viewable on the player’s profile page, however.

Collection Chip Styles
You’ll notice that collection chips are much more diverse than before, and their shape is actually dynamic, based on the number of collections each player is currently holding. Each display of chips will also include the number of active completed collections. As players continue to stack collections of the same rarity, the design of the chip will update at certain thresholds.

1 Collection Completed = 1 Round Chip (Stacks to 4)

5 Collections Completed = 1 Diamond Chip (Stacks to 4)

25 Collections Completed = 1 Hexagonal Chip (Stacks to 3)

100+ Collections Completed = 1 Star Chip (Stacks to 4)

500+ Collections Completed =  Star will “Sparkle”

To put it simply, the actual chips themselves will only stack so high. Once the next threshold is reached, the chip will change shape and consolidate.

Collections Rework Pt. 2: Holding Periods

This update is part 1 in a broader overhaul to collection mechanics and only updates the visual aspect of collection chips. Part 2 of this rework will be a change to the one-time bonus system for collections. Soon, players will be required to hold their collections for a fixed amount of time in order to earn their collection bonuses.

Thank you all for your patience while we worked to deliver this solution! We’ll return with more details regarding future updates to collections as they arise.
