It’s Time for the Bakersfield Land Rush!

This Wednesday, July 14th, we will be hosting the Bakersfield Land Rush event! This event will include 3 parts, a special Scavenger Hunt, a reverse auction, and an Ultra-Rare property sale in the Upland Store! Each activity will take place at various times throughout the day. This special edition Scavenger Hunt has a unique offering. Each player that places in the top 10 of this hunt will take home a Historic Bakersfield Ultra-Rare Collection Property! In addition, the top 10 players will also win UPX and Spark rewards, so you definitely won’t want to miss out on this rare opportunity. Details on registration, rewards, and timelines are below.

Beale Memorial Clock Tower Reverse Auction

The Bakersfield Land Rush event will also include not one but three concurrent reverse auctions. This reverse auction will feature the Beale Memorial Clock Tower Landmark in Bakersfield, in addition to two other Historic Bakersfield properties.

Beale Clock Tower Fun Facts

The Beale Memorial Clock Tower was dedicated in 1904 and was built by Truxtun Beale in memory of his mother.
Originally, there were plans to remove the clock tower in 1912, but citizens rallied to protect the historic landmark.
The original clocktower was demolished after it suffered great damage in the 1952 Kern County earthquake but was rebuilt in 1964.

Price Analysis

Located at 3801 CHESTER AVE in Bakersfield, California, the Beale Memorial Clock Tower checks in at a massive 5,149 UP2. The Beale Memorial Clock Tower is a part of a variety of collections including the Ultra-Rare “Historic Bakersfield” collection, the Exclusive “Chester Ave” collection, and the Limited “City Pro” collection. These collections carry 2.7x, 2.18x, and 1.4x boosts respectively. The original minting price for this property would have been 4,760,251 UPX if it were not a Landmark.

We estimate the premium for this landmark to be around 200%, which makes for a minimum suggested mint price of 9,520,501 UPX. The current starting point for this landmark will be 15,000,000 UPX, from which we will work our way down to the suggested mint price.

Historic Bakersfield Ultra-Rare Sale

Last but not least, 8 Historic Bakersfield Ultra-Rare properties will be available for purchase in the Upland store. Each of these properties will be broken into 3 tiers based on their base mint values. Details below.

As a reminder, players are purchasing the UPX required to mint these properties. Once the UPX is purchased, the property will be reserved for the buyer who will be free to mint it after their purchase. Players may occasionally have UPX leftover after the property is minted as the minting price is not always a round number.
